'Our president..Barraco Barner' - British girl's tweet sparks worldwide Twitter ridicule

When 20 year old British beautician Gemma Worrall (pictured above) realised relations between Russia and Ukraine were at crisis point, she decided to share her feelings on Twitter and without pausing to check her facts, or her spelling, Gemma wrote: 'If barraco barner is our president, why is he getting involved with Russia, scary.' Lol.

Within hours, Gemma was trending in countries around the world as her message was retweeted over 6,000 times.

By the time she had realised her mistakes, and deleted the tweet, it had already been screengrabbed and shown on television programmes in Australia and Belgium, among others.  Continue...

The hashtag #barracobarner was trending around the world, and new spoof accounts @BarracoBarner (UK prez, chilling at Number 10) and Michelleo Barner (First Lady of the United States of Britain) were set up.

Chris Okotie Writes about the NIS Recruitment Stampede

Pastor Chris Okotie of Household of God International Ministries posted this an article on his official Facebook page on the tragic stampede at the Nigeria Immigration Service recruitment. The Police have dispatched teams of operatives along the Lekki corridor ahead of Saturday’s End SARS protest at the toll gate. The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command confirmed the deployment. “CSP Yinka Egbeyemi is presently leading a team of police officers on a show of force to Lekki Toll Gate (Admiralty Plaza) Obalende, Ikoyi, Jakande Roundabout, and other areas in Eti Osa”, RRS tweeted Friday night. The Police department said this was “part of efforts to deter crime as well as boost the morale of his officers in the areas”. Two opposing camps – #OccupyLekkiTollGate and #DefendLagos – are planning separate protests on Saturday. This commenced after majority of the 9-member Lagos Panel of Inquiry approved the reopening of the toll plaza. The chairman, Justice Doris Okuwobi and four others ruled in favour of another application by the Lekki Concession Company (LCC). Others were DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Police), Lucas Koyejo (National Human Rights Commission), Segun ...
